The 28 photographs were found in amongst RBGE's 'cuttings collection' - a collection of papers, paintings, photographs and drawings cut from publications and kept together to aid taxonomic work in the Herbarium. In the 1990s(?) this collection was assessed by Henry Noltie who removed all original artwork and photographs to form separate collections such as this one.
