Christison, Sir Robert (1797-1882); Christison, David M/S papers, correspondence, record books on "Measurements on Growth of Trees" (1870s - 1890s) in box "M/S on Growth of Trees" filed under "Trees, M/S on Growth of" in general index was missing after being loaned to a member of staff on 23/11/1982. Rediscovered in 2018, and due to be catalogued shortly.
Note
There is a letter from Robert Christison to John Hutton Balfour (one amongst many) dated 13th May 1873 and numbered C109, which mentions the Craigleith Fossil Trees / British Museum.
