SUMMARY:
Field notes from the Kongbo Nga La listing several plant specimens with seed collections and observations on their occurrence on the east and west sides of the pass. A brief narrative notes a strenuous climb, abundant larch with unusual form, and Rhododendron vellereum being common.
CONTENT:
All on Kongbo Nga La. April 5th.
- Androsace sp. (3-5") SEED only taken.
- Rhododendron vellereum sp. (6-12') SEED taken with dried specimen. Common both sides of pass.
- Rhododendron primulaeflorum v. cephalanthoides (2-4') SEED taken with dried specimen. Common on W side.
- Primula sp. (Florindae?) Yes. SEED only taken.
- Primula atrodentata. In flower. Just showing. E. side.
- Primula walshii (pumilio?) In flower. Just showing. E. side.
- Euphorbia Nang Dz.
- Box (Buxus microphylla). Common both sides up to about 11000' or 11500'.

A strenuous climb to the summit of the Kongbo Nga La was welcome descent on the far side.
There is a lot of larch on both sides of the pass. The biggest trees are of peculiar shape. They have quite thick trunks for 20-30 ft & then suddenly taper to a point.
