SUMMARY:
The party travels from Rimbu toward Migitun via Lingsang La and Yü La, encountering snow, mist, and cold winds. They collect seeds and a flowering gentian above 14,000 feet; Yang reaches Lingsang La quickly while numerous Migitun coolies head toward Lanjong.

21st October. Rimbu. 5 1/2 m. Alt. approx 14000'. A good deal of snow in the night, but fine & soon clear, till 2.0pm, when snow fell as far down as here, but it peters out very soon beyond this, air obviously dry except on the Main Range. Yang got to the Lingsang La in a little over 4 hours. We should really have gone on with decent coolies, but ours are nearly all women & very poor, except at chattering, which they do at all times. Very pretty today till 12.0, then clouded over, with a very cold wind, & some fine snow. Got several seeds & a fine gentian in flower at over 14000'. The Lingsang La is probably 15500 or a little over. Quite a lot of Migitun coolies coming over to Lanjong, including two of our old coolies who came here for the night, recognized us.
