The object of this book is to preserve the
records of the meetings of the
Society of the Alumni of the
Medical Department of the
University of Pennsylvania.
The Society was organized in
1870, and its first meeting was
held on the 15th of March of that
year. The first President was
Dr. George B. Wood, and the first
Secretary was Dr. Horace Binney Hare.
The Society has held annual
meetings since its organization,
and has published several
volumes of its proceedings.
The present volume contains the
records of the meetings from
1890 to 1900.
The records have been carefully
transcribed from the original
minutes by the Secretary.
