1 folder with the handwritten title "Skeleton Leaves Madeira 1854" - inside are 6 pages on blue folded paper containing skeletonised leaves inserted into cuts in the paper. Leaves include magnolia, ivy, oak, coral or erythrina crista-galli, sword coral, Portugal rose tree, common custard apple, lemon and citron. Who compiled it and wher it came from is currently unknown.
Also in the box are three loose leaves, found in the archives store, origin unknown.

The 28 photographs in this series, taken by Pietro Guidi in San Remo, Italy, in the 1870s formed part of the Photographic Flora of San Remo, supervised by local pharmacist Francesco Panizzi. Each photograph has a Latin name, locality and a flowering time and som are hand coloured.

222 black and white photographs in 13 envelopes, some of which date between 1952-1957), presumably all taken by David Wilkie of RBGE and passed to (Charles) Trevor Jephcott. The subjects are all horticultural, with two notable groups, rhododendron and campanula.

Album is attributed to Nigel Douglas McDouall of Logan and includes:
East Africa Rift Valley: January-June 1909; 77 photographic prints, 33 watercolours and 5 pencil studies through the territories of the Uganda Protectorate (Uganda), Congo Free State (Democratic Republic of the Congo) and the North Western corner of German East Africa (Rwanda)
Angola: May-October 1904, 29 watercolours, 4 views from the Africa West Coast steamer with the remainder being landscapes, vegetation and portraits of local people in the south west highland area.
Mediteranean views - 15 unlabelled watercolour views of the Mediterranean, probably Spain, including coastline views, highland scenes, a village scene and 2 views of roads through arid landscapes featuring local people.

1 presentation drawing and elevation of how the new library interior could look, dated November 28th 1962, though eventually superceded.

GB 235/ASH/1/1-16: 1 box of 16 mounted photographs showing the felling of the Ash tree in 1992; and
GB 235 ASH/2: part of one of the tree limbs sliced into sections by Tim Stead to show the damage done internally by fungus; tree limb sections can be arranged to form an artistic sculpture.

The photographs cover a wide variety of activity at RBGE and many were used in the book 'How the Garden Grew' by L. Paterson. There are student groups, work in the Rock Garden c.1938-39, the Palm House, shots around the garden including snow clearing, staff/students prior to the Second World War including Henry W. Moseley, William G. Webster, James G. Crabbe, W.S. Neil, John E.G. Beach, Ronald J. Smith and also Jack Roberts. Trip to Loch Lomond (Guild?), Laboratory Shots and Jack Roberts dressed up as the Rag Queen on May Day 1948.

47 photographs / studies of members of RBGE staff, mainly gardeners / probationer gardeners, some named, but many not.
