Biographical history

Betty Sherriff nee Graham was born at the turn of the century in British India in the Himalayan foothills. She was the youngest daughter of a Scottish vicar and missionary. Dr. John Anderson Graham, who had founded the St. Andrew's Colonial Homes (now the Kalimpong Homes) on behalf of needy Indian children. She had previously been married and had a degree in Botany from Oxford.

Bi-fold Christmas card. Pre-printed card, featuring artwork by Margaret Stones. There is a handwritten message written by Betty Sherriff.

Written sometime after the death of her husband in 1967 but before "Quest for Flowers" was published in 1975.

Proceeds for card went to "Tibetan Refugee Children"

I am sorry to have been so long in returning your diary but will do so very soon. Dr. Fletcher did use a bit out of it. The description of the eye (cataract) operation.

The book is now finished, except my chapter - Have not been too well and am out of circulation for a short time but nothing basically wrong - just pushing myself too hard!
