System of arrangement

Although the Seed Donations Subseries consists of two strands it was thought less complicated to keep it as one subseries. There appears to be a set of ledgers that follow each other chronologically dating to between 1810 and 1882 (RBG/6/1/1/1 - RBG/6/1/1/8) and a set of notebooks (RBG/6/1/1/9 - RBG/6/1/1/11) which contained lists of donations without coding or an index; handwriting and inserts inside these notebook indicate that they were likely used by John Hutton Balfour but there are examples of other handwriting as well; potentially that of James McNab, his Head Gardener. It was decided to list these after the ledgers in the same subseries.
