Biographical history

Archival history

Henry spotted this book plate in an 1840s Edwards Botanical Register. it was identified as referring to John Sibthorp, but dates to after his death so was likely used at Oxford University to refer to books from the Botany Library. A lot of these books were deaccessioned at the end of the 19th century, so it is possible it came to RBGE at that time via Isaac Bayley Balfour?
