'Compilation' of reprints relating to Excursions to the Highlands of Scotland, loosely bound together in a blue cover on which is written 'Balfour Highland Botany', likely in Hutton Balfour's handwriting. The reprints cover the dates 1867-1874 and comprise:

• 'Notice of Botanical Excursions in the Highlands of Scotland during the Autumn of 1867 by Professor Balfour' from the Transactions of the Botanical Society, Vol. IX, 1867-68, pp.1-8. The paper begins with 'Professor Balfour remarked - It is useful to record every year the results of excursions, more especially when new localities have been examined. Several places of interest were visited by myself and pupils last autumn, and the results I will now lay before the meeting...' Paper covers locations such as Dalwhinnie, Dalnaspidal, Sow of Athole and Boar of Badenoch; Ben Aulder, Loch Ericht, Loch Laggan, Corryarder, Aberarder; Killiekrankie, Glen Tilt, Aberfeldy, Pitlochry, Dundee.

Small collection of reprint material found within the Hutton Balfour collection; either because one or more was in Hutton Balfour's possession, or with his papers, or because for some reason they have been corralled into the collection as they were written by him. It is not known why these reprints were kept here rather than in the reprint collection, but they remain here at present; however it should be noted that there is a Reprint Collection within the RBGE Library collection and that should be searched for a fuller collection of Hutton Balfour's published writing on his excursions.

2 volumes titled 'Botanical Excursions', one dating 1842-1845, the other 1854-1869. Both comprise a version of Catalogue of British Plants' that have been bound in a way that allows them to be used as checklists taken on excursions. Both include lists of plants and some details noted on excursions, including locations visited.

Babington, M.A.Cantab., F.L.S. and W.H Campbell, Secretary to the Botanical Society, 2nd ed. 1841; a few copies, alongside copies of the London Catalogue of British Plants, printed up and bound in such a way that it can be used as a checklist to record plants seen on various excursions, annotated heavily with lists and locations.
