•Notebook containing manuscript essay on ‘The Fiographical Distribution of Algae’ •Copy of 'A Manual of Botany' by Le Maout and Decaisne, translated by Mrs Hooker and with an Appendix by Joseph Dalton Hooker, 1876, awarded to James Adam Terras by Prof. Alexander Dickson in July 1886 as a Special Prize for High Proficiency in the Class of Advanced Practical Botany (ELWU2) (seems likely Terras eventually donated the book to the Botanical Society Library?) (book in state of disrepair now)
•List of seeds and plants imported from America in 1760 and sold by Mrs Drummond, Seed Merchant, Lawnmarket, Edinburgh •List of fruit required for Mortonhall, 1722 and an abstract from J.W. Hely-Hutchison’s letter regarding the list.

•Three folders containing three prints of Flora of Western China collected by E.H. Wilson •Folder containing list of E.H.Wilson's Seeds from China - list compiled from information found in the Plant Incoming Register: "Outdoor Department 1-02 to 10-12", seed sent to Edinburgh by John Stirling Maxwell in 1907
The photographs cover a wide variety of activity at RBGE and many were used in the book 'How the Garden Grew' by L. Paterson. There are student groups, work in the Rock Garden c.1938-39, the Palm House, shots around the garden including snow clearing, staff/students prior to the Second World War including Henry W. Moseley, William G. Webster, James G. Crabbe, W.S. Neil, John E.G. Beach, Ronald J. Smith and also Jack Roberts. Trip to Loch Lomond (Guild?), Laboratory Shots and Jack Roberts dressed up as the Rag Queen on May Day 1948.
