Contents include newspaper and journal cuttings (many from Amateur Gardening, also Popular Gardening, The Garden, Country Life etc); reviews of The Primulas of Europe; an offprint of John MacWatt’s paper to the 1913 Primula Conference and illustrations from the papers of other speakers; letter from William Wright Smith, 8 January 1937, acknowledging the gift to RBGE of 42 lantern slides and 86 negatives of Primulas; Wright Smith’s obituary and other cuttings related to George Forrest; an invitation to a dinner to celebrate Amateur Gardening’s 50th anniversary; prints and postcards from a trip to Shetland in 1935; letter from Lady Haddington and newspaper cuttings regarding the opening of Morelands to the public for charity on 30 August 1932; and loose illustrations from The Primulas of Europe and other publications.

Sin título‘Paeonies in Scotland’, very short note (cutting 26 x 66mm) from an unidentified journal referring to a photograph of blooms in Dr MacWatt’s garden in Duns. Found with a photocopy (90 x 141mm) of a view of Peonies growing near the house at Morelands, but it is not certain that this is the photograph referred to in the note.
‘Flowers from Duns’, short note (cutting 36 x 67mm) probably from the same journal as GB 235 MCW/3/4/5, referring to material sent by John MacWatt.
