        Dear Hicks,

Pleased keep the Birds of SE Tibet. I have others you will be interested to see that Codonopsis convolvulacea was exhibited at the RHS [Royal Horticultural Society] show yesterday I received an award of Merit! Gentiana depress an all received an A.M. [Award of Merit] a fortnight ago.

You seem to have had an interesting time in the Welsh hills. I don’t know them at all except distant views of Snowdon [Yr Wyddfa] etc from the Conway. They looked attractive. What a pity it is there is not a 10000’ peak somewhere in Britain!

Come in when you are next in town

        Yours
        F. Ludlow
