This is a series created by bringing known sets of lecture notes, usually taken by students attending Botany lectures at the University of Edinburgh provided by the Regius Keeper of the RBGE who usually also held the post of Professor of Botany. Many of these books will have been acquired by Isaac Bayley Balfour.

As this series is being created and brought together, the notes will be grouped by Regius Keeper giving the lectures, using three digit codes, which may then revert to numbers in the sequence at a later date, the idea being to have the sequence run chronologically.
