SUMMARY:
Notes describe eggs and nesting of Trochalopteron henrici near Migyitun, including egg color, nest placement, and clutch size, with laying in May and early June. A list of plant taxa with specimen numbers (including several Rhododendron and Corydalis) is recorded.

L. 100 Set eggs c/3 of Trochalopteron henrici (Prince Henri's Laughing Thrush).
Pale greenish. They are exactly like those of the common Song Thrush at home.
L. Dis 77. I do not think it occurs south of the main range except at Migyitun.
We found numerous nests, they are generally placed in bushes, seldom at no
great distance from the ground. They are rather untidy structures of dried
grass, dead leaves, strips of birch bark, moss etc. lined with dry twisted
grass. Clutches vary from 2-3. Eggs laid in May & early June.

Migyitun May 26.

SUMMARY:
The party revisited their old valley south of Chichchar, documenting nine Primula species in flower across avalanche-swept slopes and cliffs, with several specimens noted (e.g., 1614, 2141, 2153, 2154) and P. macrophylla around 15,500 feet. Tsongpen left at 6:00 am and returned at 3:00 pm, and one member is convalescing with a knee injury.

convalescing, with his knee, which is doing well. Tsongpen at
left at 6.0 am and came back at 3.0 pm. We went up our old
valley south of Chichchar. It is a beautiful valley, and good for
flowers too. Above the snow avalanche we found many
primulas in flower. P. roylei still holds on, but the most
numerous was the beautiful blue-purple one first collected
here last time. It is in masses, the whole hillside, where
bare, being covered with it. P. atrodentata is also
there, but over now. The little white primula 1614, where
the snow melts, comes into flower for its short season.
P. macrophylla at about 15,500 is fairly common, and the
lovely little blue primula 2154 was found in full flower on
the cliff on the right of the avalanche. It is a beauty, with
such minute leaves and huge flower. 2141, a white sikkimensis
is common, but the pick of the white lot is a new one to
us, No. 2153, which is a bright claret colour and is common
on the bare slopes from which the avalanche sweeps every
year. The ordinary sikkimensis too is fairly common.
There are therefore 9 primulas all flowering in this one
quite small valley. We are still a little early for

SUMMARY:
A previously collected Sikkimensis form proved to be nivalis with only a few doubtful capsules, and Pinto obtained 150 sheets of paper to allow packing. At Sanga Choling on the 25th and 26th of September, the diarist visited a jovial head official who provided lunch, hosted lunch and tea gatherings with local officials and ladies (including an old lama), and noted Lumsden's sulking likely due to prolonged high altitude.

Sikkimensis form which I had taken before seed were ripe near Shirab camp, turned out to be a nivalis, of which he got a few doubtful capsules. Pinto in some way of his own got 150 sheets of paper, so I can now pack everything up.

Sanga Choling
25th Sept. Halt. A good deal of rain at night & through the day. Called on the head official here, a jovial man who gave us a large enough excellent lunch. He ate little, but drank copious draughts of chang.

Sanga Choling
26th Sept. Halt. Fine most of the day, some thunder. Had a lunch party for three officials, followed by a tea party for three ladies. Both were quite successful I think, an old lama being the guest who enjoyed himself most. I produced some darts, they got quite excited throwing them. The old lady, mother of the two girls, was in good form, & although she ate little, she was thoroughly happy. She has been awfully kind to us, always sending along small things, providing a man for our mail & doing everything she could to make us comfortable. Her daughters too, especially this Incarnation, the unmarried one. In the evening Lumsden rather flew off the handle: he had hardly uttered a word all day & was obviously sulking, & at dinner let go. The cause was probably chiefly prolonged high altitude, mixed with
