Case binding with marbled end-papers. Printed label on front end-paper: Knapp, Drewett & Sons Ltd., Account book manufacturers, printers, lithographers & stationers, Kingston-Upon-Thames and branches. Book looks to have been obtained by RBGE in 1942.

• WEH/2: Folder containing a list of E.H.Wilson's Seeds from China - list compiled at RBGE from information found in the Plant Incoming Register: "Outdoor Department 1-02 to 10-12", seed sent to Edinburgh by John Stirling Maxwell in 1907
•Three folders containing three prints of Flora of Western China Kew herbarium specimens collected by E.H. Wilson (specimens on loan from Kew, photographed at RBGE) - these to be added to RBGE Archive's 'Plant Portrait Prints' collection.

•Correspondence with Jonn Mackay (1800-1801), G.A. Walker Arnott (1828), P. Neill (1828), J. McNab (1834), R. Graham (1826), and also referenced to correspondence with G. Don (1802-1812) and W.M. McNab (1818 and 1823).

1 folder containing correspondence, map, 3 photographs and report outlining the discovery of a hybrid orchid, Rhizanthera chevallierana, on Ben Lawers by David Mardon in 1979. The folder was compiled after a search for photographs of the plant taken by Mardon in 1984. Contents include, email correspondence between Clive Stace, Adele Smith and Lorna Mitchell outlining the search for photographs and compilation of the folder (2013), report and notes compiled by David K. Mardon in 1984 outlining his find, map showing where he found it, correpondence between Douglas McKean, [Paddy Woods], R.H. Roberts and David Mardon regarding the identification of the orchid, and three photographs taken by Mardon.

Folder of notes comprising Ian Hedge's attempts to discover more about a set of Egyptian specimens in the RBGE Herbarium, mostly incorporating the name of Delile [or Delille, Delisle], but sometimes also, Vahl, Desfontaines, Lippi, Vaillantes or Zorsbial [Forskal?] 'Scattered throughout the Edinburgh herbarium are a number of specimens, probably a few score, which appear from the evidence of the labels, to be an early Egyptian collection. In common with some other of the older collections they are often mounted on sheets which have other specimens and labels on them.' The file includes letters written to other institutions by Ian Hedge with their responses between 1983 and 1986.
The collection also includes a set of correspondence between ,B.L. Burtt and Dr Hagerup, Copenhagen, dating to 1955 and relating to similar/connected collections made by Schumacher, Vahl and Forskal.

68 typed foolscap pages in a clutch folder belonging to John D. Main on the Genus Primula, Synonyms of the Genus Primula from other Genera, Species and Synonyms of the Genus Primula and Primula Synonymy. Possible course notes?
On the front is 'J.D. Main' and 'Primula' in Dymo tape.
John D. Main was a student at RBGE before becoming Head of Horticulture.

The list is titled 'Lindberg Itinerary' and is essentially a list of field numbers alongside a location and date.
The locations all appear to be in and around Afghanistan.
There is a note attached to the list in Ian Hedge's handwriting that states: 'These lists of Lindberg collections refer to his zoological and not botanical gatherings. They are therefore only useful in knowing where he collected on particular days. No comprehensive lists of his botanical collections exist, but a paper by Rechinger and Riedl (Ann. Nat. Mus. Wien 65:29-37 (1962) deals with the plants he collected in the Wakhan area.'
